In the wisdom literature of the Bible, there are three components that are foundational in a Biblical family study. They are:
Understanding the FEAR OF THE LORD, which leads to SEEKING WISDOM, which leads to DESIRING WORSHIP.
Wisdom literature (Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Solomon) in the Old Testament, is an amazing collection of works that thrive on all of these ingredients. This is the key distinctive that separates secular FAMILY VALUES and Biblical FAMILY VALUES.
To understand and implement these three components is the bond that Ecclesiastes 4:12 describes:
“A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.”
The FEAR OF THE LORD, WISDOM, and WORSHIP are the triple-strength bond. Without this “triple strength”, the foundation of our homes will surely falter.
